Below is much of the relevant information you will need as you prepare for
your trip to GDI. Please contact us with additional questions.
Deadlines
The application deadline is: June
1st or when we reach capacity.
The financial aid deadline is:
April 15th
Application Forms and Deposit
our application page. Email applications are preferred but you
can also print and mail your application the old fashioned way :-)
A nonrefundable deposit of $200 must accompany your application.
This will be credited to the total you owe. If you are emailing
your application we must receive your deposit before we can confirm
your attendance. If your application is not accepted the
deposit will be returned. Again, the deposit will be credited to your balance.
Students staying in the dorm will be required to
provide a $100 key deposit at dorm check in. You may pay this by
check (separate from GDI payment check), or credit card. We
will not cash your check or charge your credit card unless students
lose keys and do not return them at check out. We DO NOT accept cash
for the key deposit.
An information packet along with parental
permission and medical release forms will be sent upon acceptance into
the program. We will accept students who apply until we
are full. We encourage you to apply early.
Coming to Spokane
Program dates
and arrival information
Program start
dates vary. Below is the list of programs and dates
Zag Scholars Program: Saturday, June
19
Four Week Varsity Program: Saturday, June 26
The
Debate Track - Monday, July 6
Two Week Programs - Saturday, July 11
Registration for all programs will be from 2pm-5pm in The Welch Hall Assembly Room
located in Welch Hall. This is the institute
dorm . When you arrive at the campus go to Welch Hall and check into
your dorm. You can check into the dorm beginning at 8am.
All programs conclude on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
Students may schedule flights to depart any time on that day. GDI will
provide a shuttle from the dorm to the airport on July 24 at 8am and
again at 9:30am. The cost for the shuttle is $5 and will be collected
the day of departure. If you wish to take this
shuttle you should plan your flights accordingly.
The
Spokane
airport is served by most major airlines and several regional
carriers.
Greyhound bus
service and
Amtrak train service
are also available.
The GDI does not run a shuttle to the campus. However,
there are multiple inexpensive options for traveling to the campus from
the airport, bus or train station. Fortunately, the campus is close
to the airport. A taxi to the campus from the airport
is approximately $20. This is a safe, inexpensive method of
traveling to campus. Have the taxi/shuttle take you to Welch Hall on
the Gonzaga Campus. The dorm is on the corner of Dakota and Boone
(see map). There are also private shuttle services you can
contact on the airport website.
Students are encouraged to share taxis with other students
to defray costs.
